On Tuesday, a father, 34, and a son, 12, were caught stealing two cartons of milk, six apples and some drinks from a store in Incheon. The father said he was in a dire need trying to feed his hungry family.

The father, a cab driver, has been unable to work for six months due to health issues. The store owner forgave the family and begged for them to receive light punishment.

A police officer then took the father and son to a restaurant and bought them a meal, and a customer, who heard about the family's circumstances, visited the restaurant and gave the man an envelope containing 200,000 won.

Estonia’s president has apologised after his country’s interior minister mocked Finland’s new prime minister – the world’s youngest serving government leader .

Mart Helme, 70, the leader of the populist far-right party Ekre, ridiculed Finland’s Sanna Marin, 34, and her government saying, ““Now we see how one sales girl has become a prime minister and how some other street activists and non-educated people have also joined the cabinet,”on his party’s radio talk show on Sunday.

Marin, who has spoken about growing up in a disadvantaged family, worked as a cashier before studying at university and embarking on a political career.

The famed Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona, Spain has been granted a building permit at long last. Despite being under construction for nearly 140 years, and receiving some four million visitors annually, the building had lacked the proper documentation. 

That issue has now been rectified, with Barcelona City Hall issuing a permit valid until 2026, which officials say is sufficient time to wrap up construction. Standing more than 172 meters in height, the basilica's central tower is expected to make the building Europe's tallest religious structure.

Venezuela recently reopened its border with Colombia after having closed it four months ago to ward off what it called a "foreign invasion." Thousands of people poured into Colombia to buy food and medicine. 

The border closure had been particularly problematic for border towns that rely on Colombian cities for essential products and services. 

As a result, many people crossed illegally, often having to pay criminals who levied tolls. Venezuela has been mired in economic and political crises with severe supply shortages and hyperinflation.
