The famed Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona, Spain has been granted a building permit at long last. Despite being under construction for nearly 140 years, and receiving some four million visitors annually, the building had lacked the proper documentation.
That issue has now been rectified, with Barcelona City Hall issuing a permit valid until 2026, which officials say is sufficient time to wrap up construction. Standing more than 172 meters in height, the basilica's central tower is expected to make the building Europe's tallest religious structure.
