It's often said that politics makes strange bedfellows. But given recent shifts in political decorum, it's more accurate to say that politics makes bedtime. It's becoming increasingly common to see politicians appearing with their children in official political chambers. In two exceptional cases, a US senator came to the senate with her 10-day-old baby, while New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern visited a UN general assembly meeting with her baby. Even before it became more common, some politicians brought their children to work to depict the plight of working women.
