A pilot program to improve the safety of the nation's high-speed buses will go into effect late next month.
Passengers who sit in the third seat of high speed buses will be asked to fulfill the duties of the "National Security Crew".
They will be responsible for helping passengers in the event of an emergency such as a traffic accident or a fire in the bus.
They will also monitor the behavior of drivers from their seat, which has a front view and is positioned for easy communication with the driver.
Government officials say the program is similar to the emergency exit seat system on airplanes where passengers sitting in exit rows help the crew in emergency situations.
