Commuters in Seoul are on track to see their commute times shortened with the expansion of express train services.
Starting next month, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Railroad Corporation said they will add 34 express trains for five train lines including the Gyeongin Line, Gyeongwon Line, Janghang Line, Bundang Line, and Gyeongui Line.
The services will be added to the rush hour commute, which is 7am to 9am and 6pm to 8pm. Officials expect 13,000 riders will benefit daily and will result in saving 620,000 hours per year.
