Though football star Son Heung-min became the first South Korean goal scorer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he burst into tears after South Korea's 2-1 loss to Mexico.

Though football star Son Heung-min became the first South Korean goal scorer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he burst into tears after South Korea's 2-1 loss to Mexico. 

The game was South Korea's second straight loss in the tournament. After the game, Son said that the players did really well, but was sad that they lost. 

Son apparently burst into tears again in the locker room when he saw South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his teammates. 

He was comforted by the president and vowed to that his team will keep working hard. 

Son said the players will regroup to prepare for their final group stage match against Germany, which will be held on Wednesday.
