As the temperature of Korea's seas rises sharply, pollack is fast on its way to becoming an endangered species in Korea.

According to a report released by Statistics Korea, the amount of pollack caught by Korean fishing boats dropped from nearly 47,000 tons in 1986 to just one ton last year.

On the other hand, stocks of fish like anchovies and mackerel have risen.

Over the past 50 years, the temperature of Korea's South Sea has risen some 1.1 degrees, which is more than twice the global average.
