An overwhelming majority of Wall Street insiders reportedly believe President Donald Trump will comfortably win re-election in 2020. A survey was conducted after special counsel Robert Mueller submitted the results of his investigation to the Justice Department. Presidential elections can have important implications for financial markets based on what traders believe the elected candidate will prioritize while in office. However Wall Street expectations can be inaccurate. During the 2016 election, 80% of respondents predicted Hillary Clinton to win the presidency as opposed to just 13% for Trump.
