Residents in George Town, Malaysia were horrified as a ferocious waterspout rampaged through the city. Witnesses described the sound of the waterspout as deafening. Video footage shows a gargantuan column of water spinning off the shore of the popular tourist island, before moving inland.
During the ensuing mayhem, close to 50 buildings were reported damaged, but thankfully no injuries. According to statistics from the Korea Meteorological Administration, 11 waterspouts have been spotted in Korea since 1985, six of which have occurred near Ulleungdo.
