An overturned truck in the U.S. state of Illinois dumped nearly 3,000 pigs onto the highway. The crash occurred about 161 km west of Indianapolis and led to the death of about 100 pigs.
A photo released by state police shows some of the surviving pigs wallowing in the mud next to the vehicle. Troopers had to corral the pigs who were enjoying themselves in the mud. The surviving pigs were recaptured and continued on to their destination in Indiana. Nonetheless, pigs raiding the highways after a crash are more common than you might think. Just a few weeks ago, another crash in Illinois also let loose almost 200 pigs.
