London's Heathrow airport recently suspended all departures due to a reported drone sighting. But just one hour later, planes that had been waiting on the tarmac were given the all clear to take off. In response to this latest incident, the British Government has announced that police and airports will be given new powers to shoot down, catch and jam drones. The moves comes just weeks after a similar debacle caused chaos at Gatwick airport over the Christmas period.
