The exchange said it will compensate investors for the lost cryptocurrencies and that it has taken precautions to prevent further losses.
This was the second hacking attack of a cryptocurrency exchange in less than two weeks in South Korea.
Meanwhile, the Seoul police have launched a probe into the case.
Several officers visited the exchange's headquarters to collect records and data from the company's computers.
