Hanoi's storied Metropole hotel has been the watering hole for dignitaries and celebrities from Charlie Chaplin on his honeymoon in 1936 to Jane Fonda and other foreign guests during the Vietnam War.
Now, it is locked down for the historic second North Korea-U.S. summit. The 118-year-old hotel also features a Vietnam war-era bomb bunker. Numerous heads of state have stayed at the Metropole, but the lack of space makes it trickier from a security standpoint.
All but one entrance to hotel will be blocked during the summit and all guests must show copies of their passports to gain access to the hotel.
