Starting on the 15th of this month, Gwanghwamun Square will feature a car-free zone every Sunday.
The area will extend 550 meters along Sejong-dae-ro. The city of Seoul says that since 2013, it had wanted to devote the first and third weeks as car-free in order to give citizens the message that the downtown area is focused on the people of Seoul.
Now on Sundays you can find camping tents, air beds, outdoor chairs and a wide variety of other conveniences to make your stay worthwhile. There will even be an outdoor cafe with a reading corner for anybody to enjoy.
