The Korean women’s curling team made history this week, reaching the highest-ever position for an Asian team in the world rankings. Korea ascended four spots to second in the latest rankings released by the World Curling Federation. Korea has moved ahead of Canada and is now behind only Sweden, who is presently holding the top spot. Korea captured their first-ever medal at the world championships last week in Denmark. The quartet proudly took home the bronze medal. The team has been on a tear recently, in addition to the most recent bronze medal, they also won gold at the 2018 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships and took silver at the 2019 Winter Universiade.
