Korea's happiness index score ranked 54th out of 156 countries in the United Nations' 2019 World Happiness Report. The result is an increase of three notches from last year. The index measures such items as per capita gross domestic product, social support, life expectancy, social freedom, tolerance, corruption, and many other factors. Finland was once again top dog, scoring 7.769 points out of 10 to be the world's happiest country for the second year in a row. Conversely, South Sudan was presumably the world's least happy country, ranking 156th.
